I’ve seen the change 10 years brought to this city. The mix of modernity and tradition, the fast track development.
I’ve seen its charm before Canton Tower and its charm after it.
The lights, the flavors, and the flowers.
The buildings, safe nights and colorful sunsets sitting above Baiyun Mountain.
My eyes are intimate with the corners and colors of Guangzhou.
After watching this video, maybe your eyes will want to see more too.😉
Every Chinese city will have at least one tea market so if you are not in Guangzhou don’t worry, there will be a delightful market near you too.
On western minds tea come in tea bags, that can make for a whole discovering experience when visiting tea markets in China. Here they come in a spectacle of packings, straw wrapped, inside dried fruits, paper wrapped, in all sizes and shapes.
Even if you don’t really care for tea, they look so good that you want to bring some home. The same happens with the tea sets and tables, you suddenly wish to build a tea room in your house.😜
Visiting Guangzhou’s market we found friendly and very welcoming people and no other tourist to be seen, a real contact with the culture and the people, perfect for those wanting to winded faraway from the crowds.

The famous alternative medicine technique practiced for thousands of years, a key component of traditional Chinese medicine, is the star of today’s video.
Usually used in combination with other treatments, the aim of acupuncture is to correct imbalances of energy in the body, it allows blocked Qi(life force) to flow.
While in the west many focus on pain relief when using this healing method, it’s actually a more complex art which balances the whole body energy, thus addressing a wider range of disorders from physical to emotional.
Very thin needles are inserted in specific points, sometimes they will be moved and stimulated by making them warm or by electric impulses, it is minimally invasive.
Disruption of Qi is believed to be the cause of any sickness, therefore acupuncture is indicated to prevent and treat all illness.

The ancient town of Zhouzhuang is an opportunity to visit well-preserved historical China.
Built parts in Yuan Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, and Qing Dynasty the place has over 900 years.
Taking a boat down the canal is a must to appreciate the town that is parted by lakes and rivers, the conductor usually wears traditional clothes and will sing folk songs for an additional tip (something that I advise you to do so).Day and night trips have different routes.
Our conductor told us that is possible to go until Shanghai by boat departing from the water town and it was the most used way in the past.
Hubby’s favorite thing about this place was the old times feeling and having the elderly playing classic Chinese board games around just added to it.
Trying local snacks, fruits and drinks are definitely part of the experience and so are shopping! Souvenirs and crafts are available along the streets.
There’s an entrance fee of 100 yuan(daytime), 80 yuan(after 4:00pm) and free after 20:00 but if spending the night the ticket can be used up to 3 days upon request.Scenic spots are open from 8:00-16:30 although the town is always open.
