Sukhothai Vlog: Night Market and Getting Things Done – Thailand + How To Get From Ayutthaya To Sukhothai

We arrived in the beautiful ancient Sukhothai city!
Time to get work done and rest for the upcoming adventures.

Sukhothai Vlog: Night Market and Getting Things Done - Thailand + How To Get From Ayutthaya To Sukhothai

How To Get From Ayutthaya To Sukhothai

By Bus

Buses from Ayutthaya to Northern Thailand depart from the new Bus Station, located out of the city island on highway 32.
In the majority of cases, your hotel will be far away from this station(not be confused with the Bus Terminal just in the city center and walking distance from many hotels), a songthaew or moto taxi will be needed to get you there.
For a 2nd class bus + songthaew ride from our hotel, we paid 341 baht per person. If you wish to book a 1st class bus it will cost you 420 baht WITH the transportation to the Bus Station.
We suggest booking through your hotel or any travel agency in town (if the price is in accordance) because the bus station is far away and going all the way there to book the tickets is a huge waste of time and money. There’s a stall from the bus company selling the tickets on Narusean Road(near the old Bus Terminal) but it can be hard to find, still, if you buy it yourself you will need to book the songthaew which will cost 100 Baht (per car not per person). Knowing that, booking everything through your hotel can save time if the price is matching.
The trip will take around 6 hours.

Ayutthaya Bus Station – สถานีขนส่งอยุธยา (สายเหนือ)
Address: Highway 32, 55/5 Moo 1, Tambon Tha-nu, Amphoe Uthai, Ayutthaya
GPS: 14.352049,100.612343 (copy and paste ain map’s search bar for exact location)
Address in Thai: 55/5 หมู่ 1 ถนน สายเอเชีย ตำบล ธนู อำเภอ อุทัย พระนครศรีอยุธยา
Website: www.transport.co.th
*It’s important to note that there are 2 BUS STATIONS in Ayutthaya, this is the new one, that is found out of the island about 20 min by songthaew from the city center.

Sukhothai Bus Terminal – สถานีขนส่งผู้โดยสารจังหวัดสุโขทัย
Address: Tambon Ban Kluai, New Sukhothai
GPS: 17.014673,99.813121
Address in Thai: ตำบล บ้านกล้วย อำเภอเมืองสุโขทัย

Sukhothai Bus Terminal Songthaew To Our Hotel
By Train

The trains departing from Ayutthaya don’t run to Sukhothai, the nearest stop is Phitsanulok taking 4-5 hours(depending on the train type), located 60 km from Sukhothai. Tickets can be bought at Ayutthaya Railway Station(see address below), which is centrally located, and will cost 58-455 baht and take 3,5-6,5 hours depending on the train and class (rapid/special express/ordinary).
Check timetables and fares at the website listed below.
At first, it wouldn’t make much sense to choose the train knowing that the bus goes straight to Sukhothai, but Phitsanulok is also a historical city, for those who are interested in visiting it, it’s a great option.
Arriving early, you can spend the day at Phitsanulok and then head to Sukhothai at night if staying in the city is not on your schedule.
If Phitsanulok is not in your plans and you prefer traveling by train, after arriving at the train station, directly pick a tuk-tuk to the bus station where you should transfer to a min bus or regular bus to Sukhothai. It will take about 1 hour costing from 30-70 baht depending on the coach.

Ayutthaya Railway Station – สถานีรถไฟอยุธยา
Address: Ho Rattanachai, Ayutthaya
GPS: 14.356727,100.582995 (copy and paste in map’s search bar for exact location)
Address in Thai: ตำบล หอรัตนไชย อำเภอ พระนครศรีอยุธยา
Website(Thailand Railway): http://www.railway.co.th/home *In this website you can check timetables, fares, and seating options with pictures of all trains in Thailand.

By Air

There’s no airport in Ayutthaya.
A nearby destination that flies to Sukhothai would be Bangkok.

Here all addresses and extra info from everything you saw on the video:

Ban Thai Guesthouse – บ้านไทยเกสท์เฮ้าส์
Budget Hotel
Address: 38 Pravet Nakhon Road, New Sukhothai
GPS: 17.007564,99.818205 (copy and paste in map’s search bar for exact location)
Address in Thai: 38 ประเวศนคร สุโขทัย
Website: http://banthaiguesthouse.wixsite.com/banthaiguesthouse/
Price: 250-450 baht per night depending on the room

Nice and quiet guesthouse, we would stay again.

Sukhothai Night Market
Address: New Sukhothai, near the bridge, around Jarodvithi Thong, Ramkamhaeng, and Rat Uthit Road
GPS: 17.009377,99.819131

The market consists of street food stalls and some fresh produce, it’s not the usual night market with all the knick-knackeries that are found around the country.
For vegans buying fresh exotic fruits are the only attraction, the day we visited we couldn’t find any vegan-friendly stalls.
If you happened to be in the city on a Saturday, the Saturday Night Market is a bigger and more attractive one starting from 6 pm taking place at Nikorn Kasem Road.

This beautiful city will unveil itself in the next posts!☀️
Stick around for more of breathtaking Sukhothai!

Having A Blast In Redang Island + Top Things To Do – Malaysia

Every time I encounter a turtle the experience gets holy.
It’s the universe and I dancing.
And man, we dance it out quite a few times during this trip!✨

Having A Blast In Redang Island + Top Things To Do - Malaysia

Here’s a list of the best attractions in other-worldly Redang Island:

Top Things To Do

☞Snorkeling
Giant skull of fishes, sharks, turtles, rays, corals, just drop in the water!
Even though the monsoon season was about to start, the sea was stable enough for snorkeling to be done.
In the evenings it would get a little wavy, showing what was to come.
We stayed until the last day when hotels started closing for the stormy season.

☞Dive
A great diving destination, offering special encounters every single time you jump into the water.
With a big variety of dive sites, average visibility of 20 meters, and a huge showcase of soft and hard corals.
No up and down current(something I’m particularly afraid of), making it a fairly safe place to dive.

☞Chill On The Beach
No explanation needed😉.

☞Trekking/Explore
Pulau Redang is 7km long and 6km wide, giving plenty of choices for trek lovers.
Among the viewing possibilities are mangroves, river, hills, rare animal species, and of course beaches.

☞Volleyball By The Beach
Some hotels set a volleyball net by the beach, even if you are not staying in one of them, just walk by and ask to join the game.
Everyone is happy to share the space and bring some new excitement to it.

☞Kayak
Renting a kayak (or using the ones available at your resort if that is the case), can be definitely a fun activity.
Make sure to pack the sunblock, place your belongings in a dry bag, and ask route tips for your hotel staff before leaving.
Snorkeling can be incorporated into your kayak trip, making for a fun half day out.
Using a life jacket is advisable.

☞Massage
Starting from rm 100 an hour at Pasir Panjang, can be done beachfront or in a spa room.
Some resorts offer bookings of a local company starting from rm70 for 30min(honestly not a great massage, but due to the lack of options it may be considerable).

☞Boat Trips
Booking a boat trip is easy yet not a huge range of options are available.
The two main ways are either booking with your hotel(or neighbor hotels) or ask around the pier/fisherman village, which opposite from Thailand, for example, won’t be on the cheaper side.
If you have a package, the trips will probably be included, what can be value for money knowing that there are no cheap self-booking options.

☞Eat
Local dishes hold exotic, delicious flavors.
There’s plenty of main courses, desserts, and fruits to be pleased by.
Vegans need beforehand planning with the chosen resort to make it happen, in our case, it turned out well.

TOP 10 VEGAN Restaurants in Shanghai – China

There’s a feeling, a peace of mind, that only my fellow vegans can understand.
When ordering food without any worries that it might not be vegan or have been cross-contaminated.
When you can pick anything from the whole menu, when only actual real food is being cooked on the place.
In celebration of this feeling we came up with this list, our favorite vegan eats in town!

TOP 10 VEGAN RESTAURANTS IN SHANGHAI:

If Vegan
Vegan Restaurant
Address: 408 Shaanxi Bei Road, JingAn District, Shanghai
Address in Chinese: 上海陕西北路408号
Subway station: Nanjing West Road – line 2/12/13 , exit 1
Open from 10am to 9pm.

Huge plus here, apart from everything being plant-based, is that the staff are also vegan!😃
Another extra is that they offer a nice variety of desserts, something that for some reason usually lacks on the veggie restaurants in town.
It is a cozy place, with caring staff and delightful food.

Green Vege Cafe

Absolutely delicious burgers are my big favorites at this cafe.

A little far from city center but most definitely worth the trip.

Vegan Hot Pot – 一叶一世界藏茶蔬食火锅

Great to spend some time, read a book, and scape a bit from the city buzz.

Subway station: Dapuqiao – line 9, exit 2

TOP 10 VEGAN Restaurants in Shanghai - China

Some searching is needed to find the restaurant inside the big mall.
Once you find it, the kind staff and tasty food will make the search worth it.
Chinese food fits perfectly with plant-based, the dishes are always delectable.

Vegetarian Lifestyle – 枣子树
Vegetarian Restaurant
Also known as Jujube Tree
Address: 258 Fengxian Road, Jingan District, Shanghai
Address in Chinese: 上海静安区奉贤路258号
Subway station: Nanjing West Road – line 2/12/13 , exit 1
Website: http://www.jujubetree.com
Open from 11:00am to 9:30pm.

Even though most of the menu is vegan, this still is a vegetarian restaurant.
The desserts are the biggest flaw, almost all including dairy products.
When focusing on the bright side, there’s plenty of delicious vegan options, giving a taste of Chinese cuisine for fellow foreigners or bringing comfort food for locals.

Having nice dine out options can play a role in how much it is (or it isn’t) cozy to live in a city.
Eating is part of everyday life and Shanghai has got a nice bunch of yumminess to make it easier, healthier, and better.

An attraction, a restaurant, and a spiritual place; all in one.
That’s the combo of serene Xiahai temple.

Activities are available to further enjoy the contact with nature, such as paddle boats and kiting.
Families having a picnic, taichi, and musical performances from visitors that come to sing, dance and play instruments with friends.

The only flaw is an aquarium located in the park, slaving animals without reason.
The park attracts free animal life, that is the real and right thing to be seeing and appreciated.

Receiving The Blessings – Rishikesh, India

Putting energy in perspective: imagine you are at the sacred Himalayan foothills, being bathed by the holy Ganges, staying at sanctified ashrams, learning from several blessed sages, on a completely spiritual environment, at the city were yoga(union) was first-born.
It is like you are vacationing in heaven.

Receiving The Blessings - Rishikesh, India

Yoga asanas, meditation, pranayama(breathing techniques) and yoga philosophy.
The combination of these together every day for a long period of time, oh darling, there’s no much explaining that can be done.
It’s other-worldly, awakening, energetic connection with the universe.

We most definitely recommend a trip to Rishikesh for those looking for a deeper understanding of themselves.
People who have spiritual interest, an open mind and no need for a fancy stay.

We adore everything that has to do with water.
We feel in tune with nature in those places, and when you are at Himalayan foothills then, oh boy!
